I sold my home within 8 hours

When civil aviation security officer Marion Barry decided to move after living in her cottage in Daisey Nook for 24 years, she wanted to sell her Manchester property. She put the 2-bed cottage in Daisey Nook, near Failsworth in on the market and after three months she had not received a single offer. The global economic downturn had brought the property market to its knees and no one was prepared to take the risk of buying a new home.

Marion was at a loss until she came across the Express Estate Agency™ on the Internet. Wary of online agents, she was reluctant to contact them, but felt that she had no other choice. In particular, Marion was sceptical of the company’s claim that they were shifting properties quickly despite the recession.

“I was worried to be making such a significant deal with an internet-based company, and when I first spoke to Astrid at the Express Estate Agency™ I thought she was absolutely mad! But the service was very personal and supportive,” she commented. “I still thought they were talking rubbish when they told me how quickly they were selling properties, but at that stage I had nothing to lose.”

But Marion was to be proved wrong. Her home went up on the website first thing on the Monday morning. By lunchtime, a prospective buyer had been round to view it, and an offer of £130,000 had been made and accepted by the end of the day. The sale progressed quickly, with Marian using Express Estate Agency’s approved solicitors to move it along swiftly.
Marion concludes:

“I have now moved out of the property and into my new home and am really pleased that the sale went ahead so quickly. I would really like to thank Phillippa who was supportive throughout the process, and really made it easier for me to leave my home after 24 years. She talked me through everything and introduced me to an excellent solicitor, Diane Collins, who was straightforward, used language that everyday people understand, and not what solicitors understand.”

Mark Brogan, Co-Director of www.ExpressEstateAgency.co.uk commented:

“We are delighted to have been able to help Marion sell her home so quickly. This sale is a prime example of how the property market does not need to implode during an economic downturn – the industry simply needs to be open to a change in the way it functions.”
